Pakistan Muslim League leader and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will fly to Pakistan in a chartered aircraft that would be given the call sign “umeed-e-Pakistan” (Hope for Pakistan), a report said on Tuesday.

The PMLN supremo plans to land in the country on October 21, nearly 4 years after he left in November 2019 to seek medical treatment in London.

He is expected to leave London on Wednesday for Saudi Arabia where he will stay for almost a week, visiting the holiest sites of Islam in Makkah and Medina. He will also meet with Saudi officials.

The former prime minister will then arrive in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on October 17 or 18. He is set to meet key UAE officials during his three-day stay in the country.

Nawaz Sharif will board a chartered plane for Lahore on October 21. However, this is not a small business jet.

The aircraft will have a capacity of 150 people and will be given call sign Umeed-e-Pakistan, Geo News reported.

Nawaz Sharif will be flying with several PMLN supporters and journalists.

The special flight will make a stopover in Islamabad before taking off again for Lahore where Nawaz Sharif will address a public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan, the TV channel said.
