      <title>Rupee strengthens in interbank market</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The rupee gained ground against the dollar in the interbank foreign exchange market as it strengthened by 93 paise, 0.33%, on Friday.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The greenback closed at 282.69 at the interbank market, as against the closing of Rs283.62 the previous day, according to the State Bank of Pakistan.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, the Pakistan Stock Exchange opened on a positive note as the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 90.72 points or 0.19%, and was trading at 47,543.1 levels in the early trade. It closed at 47,493.57 levels after gaining 41.19 points.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The KSE-30 Index shed 51.76 points, or 0.31%, and was trading at 16,395.82 levels on Friday, the last trading session of the week. It closed at 16,373.87 levels after shedding 73.71 points.&lt;/p&gt;
