Successful MDCAT applicants approach high court against retake

Applicants who successfully passed the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test approached the Peshawar High Court against the proposed retake of the test.

The petition was filed by students who had scored atleast 180 in the test. They maintained in the petition that they had worked hard to pass the test and retake would be a disadvantage to talented students who had cleared the test the first time.

The students have argued that the MDCAT rules do not have a provision for the test to be retaken.

The petition asks the High Court to order an investigation and penalise people who had cheated on the exam instead of cancelling the results entirely.

The PHC has already stopped medical colleges from uploading the results of the test until a report by a Joint Investigation on the matter is submitted.

    <iframe
        class="nk-iframe" onload="setInterval(()=>{try{this.style.height=this.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+'px';}catch{}}, 100)"
        width="100%" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="height:400px;position:relative"
        src="https://www.aajenglish.tv/news/card/30334490"
        sandbox="allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-popups allow-modals allow-forms">

Results from the MDCAT exam conducted on September 10 had revealed that as many as 110 candidates had secured 190 or above marks. The results had prompted concerns from other aspirants. They said that last year only two students were able to have such results.
