“Swiftposium will take place at the University of Melbourne, Parkville, Victoria, Australia from Sunday 11th February – Tuesday 13th February 2024,” the event’s website said. “This will be a hybrid event, so online presenters from the Asia-Pacific region are welcome.”

The moot would engage in “critical dialogue” about the pop star’s impact on gender, fandom, popular culture, literature, the economy, and the music industry.

It is backed by scholars from seven universities across Australia and New Zealand.

Organisers of ‘Swiftposium’ are accepting papers from researchers in the Asia-Pacific region across a broad range of disciplines based on her songs and achievements. The organisers have also sought abstracts of 300 words.

“Swifties” is the name used by the fans of Swift in the pop culture.

Her “Eras” tour has the potential to collect a record-breaking $2.2 billion in North American ticket sales alone, according to August survey data from research firm QuestionPro provided to CNN.
