While presiding over proceedings in a property related case on Thursday, Justice Isa fined the lawyer Rs5,000 for wasting time of leading to the court to the correct document.

The judge remarked that the petitioner had tried to ‘mislead’ the court through this action and the court no longer trusted them because of it.

However, he did not ask the lawyer to pay the fine to the court. Instead, he ordered that the lawyer should pay the money to a charity of his choice and present the receipts in court.
