Deputy Administrator Asif Khan arrived at the Lal Haveli early on Thursday and sealed the historic building, which is normally known to be Sheikh Rasheed’s political headquarters.

A video posted to Sheikh Rasheed’s account on X showed the deputy administrator at the site flanked by security. He told reporters that records had been checked and procedures had been completed before taking action.

Rasheed’s account wrote in the caption that the deputy administrator had affirmed that the property’s registry was ‘not fake’.

Auhtorities had decided to conduct the operation to ‘recover’ multiple properties in Pindi including Lal Haveli on on Wednesday.

The veteran politician was arrested from Bahria Town in Islamabad last Thursday, but is yet to be presented in court.

His arrest was denied by Islamabad police and was later confirmed by IG Punjab Usman Anwar.
