The dacoit had dozens of cases filed against him, including the killings of policmen, and had been recently booked for abducting a Hindu businessman.</strong></p> <p>A statement from SSP Munir Khoro said that the dacoit, named Yasin Shar, was killed in the Ronti area of the <em>kaccha</em>.</p> <p>Police said that Shar was wanted in 45 cases registered in Kashmore, Ghotki and Rahim Yar Khan. There was a prize of Rs5 million on his head.</p> <p>The charges against Shar included abductions as well as the murders of five policemen. Khoro said that the officials who had killed Shar would be given certificates of appreciation.</p> <p>The encounter comes two days after Shar was reported to be involved in the adbuction of Ranjeet Kumar, a Hindu businessman, from Ghotki.</p> <p>Eyewitnesses has reported that six armed men on two motorcycles had beat up Kumar and taken him with them.</p> <p>After reports that Kumar had been taken to the <em>kaccha</em>, police had established check points on the paths leading to the area to search for the crominals.</p> <p>On the same day, an encounter had led to Kumar being recovered, while one dacoit was taken into custody after being injured.
