The citizen, identified as Kashif, was in the area with his family when three suspects riding on a motorbike robbed him. Kashif opened fire when the robbers were fleeing the area.

In another instance, Ferozabad police arrested two suspected robbers involved in more than 30 criminal offenses.

Police said that the suspects would rob commuters stuck in traffic jams. Weapons and a motorbike, snatched in Bahadurabad area, have been recovered from the suspects identified as Mohammad Sadiq and Ali.

The suspects have been locked up in the past for several crimes, police said.

A first information report has been filed against the alleged robbers while the police have launched an investigation into the matter.
