At least six cases were registered against supporters of PTI in Karachi for holding public gatherings on Monday. They were accused of violating Section 144 and creating disorder.

The first information reports were registered in police stations of Malir City, Tipu Sultan, Brigade, Soldier Bazaar, and Bahadurabad.

Absconders were also named in the cases. At least 10 people were named in a case registered at the Bahadurabad police station, 15 in Brigade, 17 in Tipu Sultan, seven in Soldier Bazaar, and eight in Malir.

The complaint alleged that traffic jam was also jammed on different highways due to suspects. The cases were registered on the government’s complaint.

But PTI’s Haleem Adil Sheikh in a social media post claimed that more than 100 party workers were arrested after the protest. He added that protests would continue till the release of party chairman Imran Khan.
