      <title>Pakistan acting as bulwark against terrorism, says COAS Munir</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir has said that Pakistan was acting as a bulwark against terrorism and the international community must realise the immense sacrifices given by Pakistan.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He said this during a meeting with a group of 38 students from Harvard University, US at the GHQ as part of their visit to Pakistan, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations on Friday. The students hailed from nine different countries.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The COAS talked about regional security issues and the Pakistan Army’s contributions to promoting peace and stability in the region.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Pakistan has been fighting a recent surge in terrorist attacks, with the state maintaining that the government would not surrender before the extremist elements. Earlier this month, the army chief said that Pakistan &lt;a href="https://www.aajenglish.tv/news/30329825/pakistan-will-only-negotiate-with-afghan-interim-government-says-coas-munir"&gt;would only negotiate with the interim government of Afghanistan&lt;/a&gt; and not any group or faction.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;COAS Munir highlighted the rich potential of Pakistan and urged the participants to perceive Pakistan based on their experiences during their stay in Pakistan.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“Pakistan is acting as a bulwark against terrorism and the international community must realize the immense sacrifices given by Pakistan,” he said.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The army chief also highlighted the human suffering and atrocities being committed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and efforts to change the demographic realities.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Students appreciated the COAS for providing the opportunity for a constructive interaction, according to the statement.&lt;/p&gt;
