PTI chief Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi requested on Friday the Supreme Court to take notice of the life of her husband who is incarcerated in Attock Jail in a case pertaining to the state gifts.

She expressed serious concerns over her husband’s health in an affidavit submitted to the court through a counsel Rifaqat Hussain. It was submitted after her meeting with her husband on August 22. She claimed to have seen a significant decline in Khan’s health.

On August 5, Islamabad trial court’s judge Humayun Dilawar convicted Khan of three-year prison in a case pertaining to hiding information about Toshakhana gifts he received as prime minister from foreign countries. Subsequently, he was shifted to Attock Jail after being arrested from Lahore.

“Bushra Bibi was allowed to meet with Imran Khan on August 22, 2023 at Attock jail. During a meeting, she found a significant decline in his health which appears to have weight loss. Such a decline in the age of 70 can be dangerous for his health,” the affidavit stated.

“During the course of the meeting, Khan expressed his determination to stand for the law and Constitution and render sacrifice or endure hardship for the country,” it added.
