Three school boys of the eight, who were rescued after being trapped inside a cable car for almost 15 hours in KP’s Battagram area, were provided with two opportunities to celebrate as they passed their 9th examination.

They were stranded in the cable car after two wires broke as the military and local administration carried out rescue operations.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Peshawar announced the result of SSC-I Annual Examination 2023 on Tuesday.

AttaUllah secured 442 marks, Niaz Muhammad got a 412 score and Usama secured 391 marks in his SSC Part-I examination.

The three students of class 9 were among the people stuck in the cable car in the Allai Jhangray Pashto area. Others trapped inside the cable car included Abrar, Irfan, Gulfaraz, Rizwan and Sher Nawaz.

The rescue operation to evacuate the eight people continued for almost 15 hours as rescue teams encountered several hurdles including strong wind and a hard terrain.

The Pak Army SSG commandos carried out a ‘sling operation’ managin to rescue two which was halted due to nightfall. The remaining six people were rescued through a zip line.

The ground operation was started as a substitute and a small cable car was placed on the wire in an attempt to reach the stuck cable car.
