PTI to seek Supreme Court investigation into Alvi’s statement

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf said it will approach the Supreme Court after President Arif Alvi claimed that two bills were turned into law in defiance of his orders.

A statement from the party said thanked the president for ‘rising above concerns’ to take a stand for democracy and the fundamental rights of citizens.

PTI said that the matter would be placed infront of the court and the chief justice will asked to investigate and determine who is responsible.

The party said that Alvi’s revelations showed the disease that had pentrated the state’s structure. It added that the matter was an extension of the same mindset that had prevented timely elections from taking place in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

    <iframe
        class="nk-iframe" onload="setInterval(()=>{try{this.style.height=this.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+'px';}catch{}}, 100)"
        width="100%" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="height:400px;position:relative"

        sandbox="allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-popups allow-modals allow-forms">

Earlier in the day, President Arif ALvi had said that he had never granted his assent to amendments in the Army Act and the Official Secrets Act. Both bills were reported to have received his signatures on Saturday.

Alvi had said that his staff had ‘undermined’ his will and command and apologised to people who would be affected by the law.
