KP’s 12-member interim cabinet takes oath

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali on Saturday administered the oath to a 12-member interim cabinet in the province that replaced another interim cabinet which resigned earlier this month.

The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Governor’s House in Peshawar.

The interim cabinet consisted of nine ministers, two advisors and a special assistant.

The ministers include Firoz Jamal, Syed Masood, Irshad Qaiser, Ahmed Rasool Bang, Asif Rafiq, Najeebullah, Muhammad Qasim Jan, Irshad Hussain, and Amir Abdal will be part of the interim cabinet.

Riaz Anwar and Sarfaraz Ali Shah will serve as advisors, while Zafarullah Khan has been appointed a special assistant.

The province is being run by interim governments since January 2023, when Imran Khan’s party dissolved assemblies in both KP and Punjab.

However, earlier this month, all ministers stepped down, paving the way for a new cabinet to be picked by the caretaker chief minister.
