The pilot worked for the airline IndiGo and was scheduled to fly from Nagpur to Pune. Reports said that he was well rested as per the guidelines issued by the civil aviation authority.

However, when he arrived at the Nagpur airport he collapsed at the boarding gate.

He was taken to the KIMS-Kingsway Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Initial reports said that the death was caused by ‘sudden cardiac arrest’.

The flight he was supposed to fly was dealyed by a mere 14 minutes from its schedule.
