The incident happened around 5pm on Sunday in Turbat’s area Kalag. The girls were between 10 and 17 years of age.

The girls have been identified as Fiza binte Zubair, Faiza binte Saleem, Mahtab binte Kareem, Durdana binte Naeem, Bushra binte Ghulam, Shireen binte Nasir and Mahzaib binte Ashraf.

With no rescue efforts undertaken by authorities, locals got the bodies out of the water themselves and shifted them to hospitals themselves. The hospital authorities later handed over the bodies to their families.
