      <title>Rupee records third consecutive loss in interbank market</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The dollar continued to batter the rupee in the interbank foreign exchange market as the later recorded a decline of Rs1.84 on Wednesday.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The greenback was trading at Rs289.38 at the closing of the interbank market, compared with the closing of Rs287.54 the previous day.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This is the third consecutive losing day for the local unit as the demand for the dollar was on the rise for import payments.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, the Pakistan Stock Exchange recorded another positive session on the back of improved investor’s sentiments.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The benchmark KSE-100 Index added 534.05 points, or 1.11%, to close at 48764.55 levels. The Index hit a high of 48852.05 and a low of 48178.88 in the midday trading.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Similarly, the KSE-30 Index gained 219.70 points, 1.27%, to close at 17479.59 points.&lt;/p&gt;
