The tournament is set to take place in India’s city Chennai between August 3 and August 12. Visas for the team have already been issued.

The hockey federation has written multiple letters to the government for the matter to be handled quickly, to no response.

Tensions between the two countries mean that travel is restricted and needs security clearances are required before hand.

The issue does not only affect hockey but has also affected cricket with India saying they would not play Asia Cup matches in Pakistan and instead asked for a neutral venue.
