The assault on the fully veiled woman occurred in Sector E6 of the area. The suspect was named Adeel Baig, aka Taqi, according to the police.

They added they have taken information from the victim and further investigation was under way.

The incident was a repeat of the Gulistan-e-Johar sexual harassment incident which shocked the city earlier this month.

CCTV footage available with Aaj News shows a young woman, wearing an abaya, walking in a deserted street. A motorcyclist emerges from somewhere and touches the woman inappropriately on the back as he slows down the bike.

The motorcyclist does this without stopping and then rides ahead. His face is clearly visible in the footage recorded by a CCTV camera.

Aaj News reported that the assault happened in Mujahid Street in the precinct of Orangi Police Station.

Police officials say the video was recorded on Tuesday, July 18, but no one had lodged a complaint.

Earlier this month, in the Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi, a young woman was assaulted by a man who removed his shorts after arriving in a residential area street on a motorbike. He then rushed to the woman wearing an abaya as she walked down the lane. The young woman resisted him and ran away.

The incident was recorded on a CCTV camera but police failed to arrest the harasser, though it did detain a suspect.

They were also able to track down the motorcycle used by the harasser, but there is no word on his arrest.
