Investigations into how a four-year-old child was abducted from Lahore have taken a new turn with the revelation that the abuctor was raped.

Yousaf, who is four years old, was abducted from Lahore around 2:30 pm on the third day of Eid. CCTV videos had shown an unidentified woman leaving with the child.

Police kept up the search for eight days with no success until they received a clue from a mobile application.

A teacher at a shelter home in Rawalpindi uploaded a photo of the child on Punjab Police’s mobile app. The child was soon traced and police recovered him.

It has now been revealed that the woman who abducted him was suffering from mental illness and was apparently very highly educated.

However, the main new development that has emerged is that the woman was raped after she had abducted the child.

She took a a rickshaw after abducting the child. The driver of the rickshaw took her to the Chamra Mandi, where he raped her with the help of friend.

Meanwhile, the police did not send the woman for a medical examination and simply sent her off to jail in a case of serious negligence.
