&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;A large contingent of police entered the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly on Wednesday ahead of the scheduled election for the region’s new chief minister.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The police closed off the building and turned out all employees of the assembly secretariat as well as media representatives.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Media reports said that former ministers belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf could be arrested.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;On the other hand, the Chief Court also issued a stay order against the election of the new chief minister and suspended the schedule already issued for the election.&lt;/p&gt;
