He was appointed ambassador as Dr Asad Majeed’s tenure ended.</p> <p>The prime minister office has already invited suggestions for the appointment of the next ambassador. Khalil Hashmi, who serves as Pakistan’s permanent representative in Geneva, is reportedly a strong candidate for the post.</p> <p>However, Hashmi has already been nominated as Pakistan’s new ambassador in Russia.
