Reports said that the PMLN leader and former president met at dinner on Thursday. Nawaz’s daughter Maryam, who is also the party’s chief organiser, and Bilawal Bhutto, who is PPP chairman and foreign minister, were also present in the meeting.

Topics that came under discussion in the meeting reportedly included the prospect and timeline of Nawaz’s return, the compostion of the caretaker setup, seat adjustment in the upcoming elections and a charter of economy. The date of the next general election was also discussed.

Following the meeting, Nawaz decided to extend his stay in the UAE and another meeting could take place with Zardari to finalise matters.

Nawaz will spend Eid in Dubai as well, after which he will decide whether to return to London or to return to Saudi Arabia.

However, with amendments to the election bill already passed, Nawaz could return to Pakistan next month if legal matters are straightened out. He would make his return from London via Dubai or Qatar.
