Fans blast makers of ‘Pasoori’ rendition

Many fans from Pakistan and India showed on Monday displeasure when the cast and makers of Satyaprem Ki Katha dropped the teaser for Pasoori Nu – an Indian remake of singers Ali Sethi and Shae Gill’s global hit Pasoori.

The Indian version is sung by Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar. The music video features lead actors, Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, of the movie.

After an earlier announcement of a remake of Passori in the movie, Pakistani fans raised concerns that Bollywood would “destroy” the original song.

The song has disappointed many fans, with many expressing dissatisfaction and claiming that the makers have “ruined” the song.

Several fans took to Twitter to show their reaction.

One fan called PasooriNu “dismal and disappointing”. The Indian Twitter user wrote that the music company has “destroyed yet another classic” by adding “nonsensical” lyrics.

Another said that spoke in the same vein and claimed the T-Series was on target to spoil Pakistani songs after experimenting with Indian songs.

A fan asked, “Why make things worse if [you] can’t do it better?”

One Pakistani fan also pointed out the “hypocrisy of India” as Pakistani artists were banned from working in the neighbouring country, while their songs were being “copied” by Bollywood.
