This revelation was made by the former Pakistan captain and legendary wicketkeeper Rashid Latif on Twitter.

It was reported earlier that Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh have given a green signal to the Pakistan Cricket Board’s hybrid model. Moreover, the Asian Cricket Council also reportedly accepted the PCB’s proposal.

But the Board of Control for Cricket in India was firm on playing the entire tournament at a neutral venue. In this regard, BCCI’s secretary Jay Shah invited other boards presidents to watch the Indian Premier League final and to mull over the Asia Cup matter on the sidelines.

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif in a tweet stated that India and three countries rejected the hybrid model for the Asia Cup. They all agreed on one venue due to logistics and financial issues.

There might be a Zoom meeting or a general meeting in Dubai in a few days to finalise the matter, he concluded.

In the hybrid model, Pakistan would host four to six matches of the six-nation tournament at home and India will play at a neutral venue. The same venue would also host the remaining matches including the final.

India’s refusal to tour Pakistan and not accepting the hybrid model may push PCB to consider pulling out of World Cup as well.
