      <title>Fawad Chaudhry leaves PTI, takes ‘break’ from politics</title>

&lt;p&gt;“I have decided to take a break of politics, therefore, I have resigned from party position and parting ways from Imran Khan,” he wrote on Twitter.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Fawad Chaudhry had been released from custody on the the orders of the Islamabad High Court on May 16. He had left the court at midnight and said he condemened the events of May 9.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Sources said that Fawad met Faisal Vawda before making the decision. He reportedly remarked to Vawda that he had ‘lost taste’ for politics.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Fawad is the latest to leave the party among a number of PTI leaders, including Shireen Mazari and Amir Kayani.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Fawad Chaudhry was one of the main leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and was the party’s senior vice president. He was considered a close aide of Imran Khan.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He was born in 1976 and first entered politics in 2002 as an independent candidate for the Punjab assembly but lost. In 2012 he joined the All Pakistan Muslim League and served as Pervez Musharraf’s spokesman.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He joined the Pakistan Peoples Party in March 2012 but eventually ended up contesting the 2013 election as a PML-Q candidate. However, he remained unsuccessful.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In 2016, he contested a bye-election on a PTI ticket but lost. After becomign one of the party’s visible faces  in the media, he became the party’s spokesman in 2018. He won a seat to the National Assembly from Jhelum in 2018 on a PTI ticket.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In the government, he was appointed first as minister for information and then as minister for science and technology.&lt;/p&gt;
