      <title>Hazara community will no longer need verification to be issued passport</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Supreme Court waived the requirement for members of the Hazara community to get verified by a member of national, or provincial assembly or chairman union council to get a passport on Wednesday.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The order was passed by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial in a suo motu case regarding target killings of the members of the Hazara community.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The court not only waived off the verification requirement but also ordered that members of the community returning from Europe and Australia.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Justice Athar Minallah asked the community;s counsel if the issues identified in the petition had been resolved, to which the counsel replied that the issues regarding opening of bank accounts were yet to be resolved.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The additional attorney general told the court that the governmetn had submitted a written reply in court which clarified that all issues related to passports, identity cards and bank accounts had been fixed.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The chief justice remarked that with the government’s assurance received, the case had on use going on an y further.&lt;/p&gt;
