The order was passed by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial in a suo motu case regarding target killings of the members of the Hazara community.

The court not only waived off the verification requirement but also ordered that members of the community returning from Europe and Australia.

Justice Athar Minallah asked the community;s counsel if the issues identified in the petition had been resolved, to which the counsel replied that the issues regarding opening of bank accounts were yet to be resolved.

The additional attorney general told the court that the governmetn had submitted a written reply in court which clarified that all issues related to passports, identity cards and bank accounts had been fixed.

The chief justice remarked that with the government’s assurance received, the case had on use going on an y further.
