Over a dozen dacoits launched an attack using modern weapons overnight, Police said. They surrounded the check post and opened fire.

Dacoits managed to flee from the site after the gun attack. A search operation is underway to find the suspects.

Police constables Ali Gohar and Kishore Kumar were among the martyred personnel. Meanwhile, the injured policeman, identified as Aziz Mirani, was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

DIG Sukkur Javed Jaskani confirmed that more than a dozen dacoits attacked the police check post. After the attack, a heavy police contingent from all over the district was sent to Gamero area, who are searching for the attackers.
