Joginder Singh, 71, from Jalandhar in the Indian state of Punjab was visiting the Gurdwara Janam Asthana and arrived in Nankana Sahib on April 9 with other Sikh devotees.

Around 3,000 Sikhs from India have arrived in Pakistan to celebrate the Baisakhi festival.

Joginder Sindh experienced a cardiac event on Tuesday and was rushed to the district headquarters hospital in a Rescue 1122 ambulance. The doctors pronounced him dead.

A special ambulance later carried his body to the Indian border later in the day.

Every year, a large number of Sikh devotees from India and other parts of the world visit Pakistan to celebrate religious events since most of the Sikh shrines lie in Pakistan.

Baisakhi marks the birth of Khalsa Panth under Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of Sikhs, in the year 1699.
