Aaj TV English News - Pakistan https://english.aaj.tv/ Aaj TV English en-Us Copyright 2026 Sat, 04 Apr 2026 19:32:03 +0500 Sat, 04 Apr 2026 19:32:03 +0500 60 Sindh starts emergency service Rescue 1122 https://english.aaj.tv/news/30315678/sindh-starts-emergency-service-rescue-1122 <p><strong>The Sindh Cabinet has decided to establish a Sindh Emergency Service Rescue 1122 for which a draft bill was presented, according to a press handout on Tuesday.</strong></p> <p>Sindh does not have a dedicated Emergency Response service and only relies on charitable organizations and NGOs.</p> <p>The functions of Rescue 1122 include</p> <ul> <li>An ambulance Service</li> <li>Water Rescue</li> <li>Fire fighting</li> <li>Urban Search &amp; Rescue</li> <li>Building Safety</li> <li>Motorcycle Rescue Service</li> <li>Community Safety</li> <li>Training of Community, government institutions, schools etc.</li> <li>Certification for Basic Life Support (CPR, fire drills, safety standards etc.)</li> </ul> <p>The Rescue Service headquarters would be at City Warden, KMC, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi.</p> <p>Karachi would have rescue stations at:</p> <ul> <li>Leprosy Hospital</li> <li>Landhi</li> <li>Shah Faisal</li> <li>Main Hawkesbay</li> <li>Mauripur</li> </ul> <p>Hyderabad’s rescue station would be at Thandi Sarak, Larkana’s at CMC hospital, in Mirpurkhas at the PDMA Office, in Sukkur at PDMA Warehouse.</p> <p>A New Uniform Cadre Rescue Service was introduced in the province. Two batches of Rescue Service Personal, comprising 405 cadets, have been trained at the National Rescue Academy, Punjab.</p> <p>A complete range of Fire Fighting, Ambulatory, Search &amp; Rescue, Water Rescue, and Animal Rescue shall be provided through trained uniform personnel.</p> <p>Command &amp; Control of Rescue 1122 is fully functional and responding to emergencies in the Karachi and Larkana divisions and is partially functional in the other nine districts.</p> <p>The cabinet approved the draft Sindh Emergency Rescue Service 1122 Bill and referred it to the assembly.</p> The Sindh Cabinet has decided to establish a Sindh Emergency Service Rescue 1122 for which a draft bill was presented, according to a press handout on Tuesday.
