&lt;p&gt;“Terrorism is indefensible, and to target worshippers is unconscionable,” Adrienne Watson, spokesperson for the US National Security Council said.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A mosque in Peshawar’s police lines was targeted on Monday, leaving 100 people dead, including 97 policemen.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Calling the attack ‘tragic’, the statement by the US NSC expressed grief over the loss of lives and condoled with the loved ones of the victims.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“The United States stands ready to provide support to Pakistan in its efforts to recover and rebuild,” the statement said.&lt;/p&gt;
