      <title>Azam Swati freed after over a month in custody</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Senator Azam Swati, who was arrested in late November for criticising army officials, was released from custody in Islamabad on Tuesday.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The senator’s bail was approved by the Islamabad High Court on Monday after a long-drawn arrest which involved him being shuttled from Islamabad to Balochistan to Sindh and back to Islamabad.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He had been custody since November 27, when he was arrested from his farm house in Islamabad.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Speaking outside the CIA center in I-9 from where he was released, Swati said he would not back down and pursue his case against custodial torture inflicted on him.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This was Swati’s second arrest for criticising military officials. He was first arrested from his home in in October, in a late-night arrest without warrant. after his release he had claimed he was tortured by military officials in custody. Subsequent tweets had led to his second arrest.&lt;/p&gt;
