The son of late Abdul Qadir confirmed Thursday that former captain Imran Khan had invited the leg-spinner’s family at the Zaman Park residence, but they decided against honoring the invitation.

It’s been over three years since the passing away of Pakistan great Abdul Qadir. However, Imran Khan recently invited Qadir’s family to offer his condolences at his residence in Lahore.

There were speculations going around the social media following the refusal, however, Qadir’s son, Salman broke the silence and shared the reason behind the refusal.

Qadir, the legendary leg-spinner from Pakistan who died in 2019 aged 63, was recently inducted on the ICC Hall of Fame list.

He took 236 Test wickets in 67 matches and his 9 for 56 against England in 1987 remains one of the best figures in Test cricket. Qadir made his last international appearance in 1993.
