According to the details, Salman Shehbaz, who was in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, landed at Islamabad Airport from Jeddah at around 1:30 PM on flight SV 726, after which he met his father Shehbaz Sharif.

On his arrival the prime minister embraced his son and placed a garland of flowers around him.

Salman Shahbaz had filed protective bail plea in the court to escape arrest.

In his bail plea, Salman Shahbaz stated that he had been in the UK since October, 2018 and had never received a notice from the FIA.

“FIA had filed a case against him in my absence after I went abroad in 2018 while the case was made in 2020,” Salaman said and added that he had been declared a proclaimed offender so the court should grant him two weeks’ protective bail.

On Thursday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) directed the Federal Iinvestigation Agency (FIA) ​​not to arrest Salman upon his arrival from London. The IHC also ordered Salman to surrender before the court by December 13.

The court has made the attendance of Shahbaz Sharif’s son mandatory for the protective bail.

It is pertinent to mention here that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had written a letter to the UK government to hand over Salman, who was wanted by the accountability watchdog under money laundering charges and the Telegraphic Transfer scandal.

In 2019, an accountability court had also issued non-bail-able arrest warrant for Salman Shehbaz’s arrest.
