Chaudhry Shujaat to meet Nawaz in London: sources

In a political development that might have far-reaching impacts for the fortunes of Punjab assembly, Chaudhry Shujaat is likely to travel to London to meet Nawaz Sharif.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain met the PMLN chief in London on Saturday to discuss the political situation in the country. Sources revealed that the two leaders agreed that it would be better if Shujaat came to London and met Nawaz one-on-one. However, no arrangements have been finalised yet.

    <iframe
        class="nk-iframe" onload="setInterval(()=>{try{this.style.height=this.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+'px';}catch{}}, 100)"
        width="100%" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="height:400px;position:relative"
        src="https://www.aajenglish.tv/news/card/30305657"
        sandbox="allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-popups allow-modals allow-forms">

Another advantage of an in-person meeting in London is that the PML-Q leader will be able to take Nawaz into confidence about the plan discussed by Asif Zardari.

Since Imran Khan announced that he would dissolve assemblies on November 26, there has been continuous scrambling by both PDM and PTI to make sure that there arrangments are in place when the moment of action arrives.

In July, the elder Chaudhry had chosen to side with the PDM after Zardari had made a lengthy negotiation. The PTI’s plan to make Pervaiz Elahi had ben temporarily thwarted until courts intervened.

Pervaiz Elahi and his son Moonis Elahi have said multiple times that assemblies will be dissolved at the ‘Imran’s will’. However, in view of how much wrangling took place when Elahi became CM in July, it is likely that many more moves will be played out before the final decision.
