A suspected robber was killed on Friday when he along with his companion was trying to commit a robbery near the Baloch Colony fly-over at Karachi’s Shaara-e-Faisal.

The CCTV footage of the incident shows the accused fleeing after committing the robbery, however, the security guard posted outside a money exchange company put up resistance. This led to an exchange of fire between the robbers and the security guard.

During the exchange of fire one of the robbers was killed and another robber managed to escape under the cover of fire.

The police said that the security guard was also injured in the exchange of fire, adding that they seized weapons and a motorcycle from the scene.

Police said the suspect killed in the encounter was identified as Hammad. A case has been registered while further investigations are underway.
