Rehan Khan Niazi was optimistic that the course will up-skill inmates and give them a chance at a “better life” when they are released.

“First batch was designed to train teachers,” he told AAJ TV. “We completed the course within two months. We did a lot of practice and now we are teaching here.”

He believes that prisoners have a passion for learning Chinese adding that “they are learning the language with great enthusiasm”.
