Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced on Wednesday that there would be no change in the prices of petrol and diesel for the next fortnight.

The finance minister said that the government decided that the prices of petrol and diesel at this moment, from December 1, will be maintained for the next 15 days.

The current prices for petrol are Rs224.80 per litre, Rs.235.30 for high-speed diesel. The government decided to keep the petrol prices unchanged.

Dar said that the price of light diesel oil is reduced by Rs.7.5 from Rs186.50 to Rs.179 and the price of kerosene is reduced by Rs.10 from Rs191.83 to Rs.181.83.

Earlier on November 15, the government had decided to keep the prices of petroleum products unchanged till November 30.

It was expected that the government may likely adjust the prices of petroleum products in the petroleum levy which the government committed with the IMF to increase each month.
