“Imran Khan entrusted the Punjab government to [me]. We stand with those whom we support,” the chief minister said in a video statement.

Elahi warned the coalition government that in case PTI and its allies exit the country’s assemblies, then the incumbent government, “which expands over a mere 27kms, won’t last for the next 27 hours”.

He said that after Imran Khan’s recent announcement at the Rawalpindi public gathering, the PTI chief’s strategy had entered a decisive round.

Earlier on Saturday, Imran Khan, while addressing the ‘Haqeeqi Azadi March’ in Rawalpindi, announced that his party would leave all assemblies instead of marching on Islamabad.

“There is no point in staying in the system when the country is being ruined,” Imran Khan said, adding that party consultations will begin soon to determine the further strategy of leaving assemblies.

Meanwhile, Moonis Elahi indicated that the plan could go ahead without any hurdles.

“Punjab assembly will be dissolved on the same day when Imran Khan will ask to do so,” he said in a tweet.
