      <title>Funeral prayers offered for Mufti Rafi Usmani, hundreds attend</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Funeral prayers for Mufti Rafi Usmani were offered in Karachi on Sunday. He passed away at the age of 86 on Friday after a long illness.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The prayer was led my Mufti Taqi Usmani, the deceased’s younger brother. Sindh governor Kamran Tessor, JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, and Jamaat-e-Islami president Naeem ur Rehman. He will be laid to rest at Jamia Darululoom’s graveyard.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;A large number of citizens attended the funeral amid heavy security provided py police and rangers personnel.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Mufti Rafi Usmani was the head of the Jamia Darululoom in karchi’s Korangi area and was also the patron-in-chief of Wifaq ul Madaris. He was born in 1936 and was the son of Mufti Shafi Usmani, a major figure of Pakistan’s independence movement.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Politicians, government officials and religious figures all expressed grief over Usmani’s death.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“He illuminated the whole world with the light of his knowledge,” wrote PM Shehbaz Sharif in his condolence tweet.&lt;/p&gt;
