The attack was met with protests in Swat over fears of the resurgence of militants and anger over the lack of children’s safety as a child was injured in the firing.

“The incident was not a terrorist attack by any means,” said the IG on Thursday. “Instead, it was a personal conflict in which the man killed his brother-in-law (sister’s husband).”

Police said that one accused man has been arrested and they are looking for the other two.

Journalist Javed Aziz Khan said on this situation in a tweet:

IG Jah Ansari said, “We will not let anyone ruin the peace of Swat.”

He added the motorcycle and weapons used in the attack have been taken in police custody, and they have contacted Interpol to arrest an accused who fled to Dubai.
