Mohammad Saleem Advocate was killed in Kabal Hazara Wednesday afternoon at around 6pm, the TV said.

The motives of the attack on Saleem were not clear immediately. However, the region has seen a surge in militant activities.

On Wednesday, Atif Khan, a minister in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where Swat valley is located said that he had received a letter demanding around Rs8 million in extortion.

People in Swat have protested against recent killing of a school van driver. They turned up in large numbers on the main streets.
