“Light the Sky” is the latest song part of the Qatar 2022 soundtrack. It features Morrocan star Nora Fatehi, Emirati singer Balqees, Iraqi diva Rahma Riad and award-winning Morrocan singer Manal Benchlikha.

It is the fourth song of the official soundtrack, and follows the releases of Hayya Hayya (Better Together), Arhbo, and The World is Yours to Take.

The song is sung in different languages including English, bits of Urdu/Hindi by Fatehi, and a bit of Moroccan Arabic.

The Urdu lyrics sung by Nora Fatehi, a Moroccan Canadian actress and singer known for her work in the Indian film industry, were a delightful surprise for fans.

Fatehi chants “Chalo Chalo (let’s go, let’s go)” as the song starts.

The producer of the song told an Arab daily that that the song was rooted firmly in the Middle East. “It is also fitting that the first-ever female referees at a Fifa World Cup are part of this release that will connect with football and music lovers of all ages,” they told Gulf News.

The song’s upbeat music video also celebrates the groundbreaking inclusion of female referees at the first-ever FIFA World Cup in the Middle East by featuring all six officials who were selected for the tournament.

Stéphanie Frappart from France, Salima Mukansanga from Rwanda, and Yoshimi Yamashita from Japan will take charge of matches in Qatar, while Neuza Back from Brazil, Karen Díaz Medina from Mexico and Kathryn Nesbitt from the USA will be assistant referees.

Fifa World Cup 2022 will commence on 20th November and will continue until 18th December, with four matches being played every day.
