Maryam meets her father Nawaz Sharif in London after three years

PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz met her father and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in London after three years as she arrived in the United Kingdom on Thursday.

A large number of PML-N workers, along with the Sharif family, had reached Heathrow Airport to welcome her. But, they were also a few people who protested as the PML-N leader reached London.

The Lahore High Court directed on Monday the deputy registrar (judicial) to return the passport of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter to her, paving her way to meet her father in London. She surrendered her passport in 2019 in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.

The former prime minister left Pakistan in November 2019 after being allowed to seek medical treatment abroad by the courts.

The decision came after Maryam’s conviction in the Avenfield apartments reference was overturned by the Islamabad High Court.

Brother Hussain Nawaz welcomed Maryam at the Avenfield, as party workers chanted slogans. She waved to her party workers and thanked them for welcoming her.

“I thank you all from bottom of my heart as you all have taken out time for welcoming me here. Thank you very much. May God bless you,” she told supporters outside Avenfield.
