“False cases are being made against Imran Khan and this case is nothing new for him,” the chief minister said while speaking to the media after inaugurating the Ehsaas ration discount program in Lahore on Sunday.

The chief minister said that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) came to power to only register false cases against political rivals.

Earlier today, the federal cabinet directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to start an investigation into Prime Minister House audio leaks.

The agency has been directed to begin legal action against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan, Asad Umar, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and the-then Principal Secretary Azam Khan – the four people who were having a conversation in the second bit of the audio leak.

Talking about the Ehsaas programme, the Punjab chief minister said that deserving families would get up to 40% discount on the purchase of flour, ghee, oil, and pulses from registered grocery stores, adding that 8 million families would benefit from the programme.
