Shahnawaz Amir allegedly murdered his wife Sarah Inam Friday morning by hitting her with a gym dumbbell.

The murder shocked the nation.

The police brought Shahnawaz to court at the end of his three-day physical remand and requested the judge to extend the remand by another five days.

The investigation officer (IO) told the court that the accused had been receiving money from Sarah Inam who lived abroad.

The judge asked how many days the police had interrogated the accused.

The investigation officer said that Amir had spent a total of five days under police remand.

Meanwhile, Ayaz Amir’s counsel requested that his client’s mobile phone be returned to him.

The judge said that if the police had no objection the phone must be returned.

The investigation officer told the court that the phone had been sent for forensic analysis because Ayaz Amir had confirmed that there was a photo in the phone.

The court extended Shahnawaz Amir’s physical remand by another four days while it reserved the decision about the phone.
