The child’s father told the police that his son was alone at home when their neighbour broke in and attempted to rape him.

He added that he heard his son screaming from the bathroom when he came home for lunch around 4pm. When he opened the door he witnessed the older boy molesting his son.

The accused ran out using the other bathroom door and managed to get away. He was later arrested by the police while the child was taken to hospital in critical condition.

The accused is currently in police custody.
