Most of the hill torrents that originated from Balochistan’s Koh-e-Suleman range have become ferocious after a heavy spell of monsoon rains in the region.

Torrents raging with heavy flood flow inflicted heavy losses to the nearby settlements damaging homes, cattle and crops in Suhbat area of the province.

Thousands of families have been affected by the rain-triggered flash floods and the people trapped in floods are waiting for rescue and relief.

Meanwhile, the people have demanded the government to provide food and medicines during this difficult time to the affected families.

Over 900 people killed in rain-related incidents across the country

Torrential rains lashed several cities in the country, leaving at least 903 people dead and 1,293 injured.

Sharing the number of deaths and injuries in a tweet, Federal Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman said that 326 who died during the rain-related incidents were children and 191 were women.

Rehman said that the country was facing devastation on account of monsoon-induced flash floods, adding that flash floods left thousands of people homeless.

She noted that the local administrations and provinces needed more resources to deal with the catastrophe.

Sherry said that the record spell of rain led to the humanitarian crisis.

Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb appealed the nation to donate their funds to PM Flood Relief Fund, adding that the State Bank of Pakistan has issued a circular allowing all commercial banks to receive the donations.

The minister, in a statement, said that overseas Pakistanis could also donate their funds in the fund.
