Wahab Ali studied music at Balochistan’s Jaji Khan Artist Academy and made his debut in Coke Studio’s 14th season which was released in January of 2022.

“For the last 2 days, all of Pakistan has been focusing on us, however, our money has been tied up because there is some court issue and we’re hoping they release the money and help those that are in need,” Wahab told Aaj News.

“The government has given us no response at all,” said Wahab. “Our friends are trying to help, and so are the people at Coke Studio and our social network of friends. They are trying their best to help us recover from this but there has been no response other than that.”

Kaifi Khalil from Coke Studio and activist Muniba Mazari are among the influencers calling on the public to help Wahab and his family.

Khalil took the news to his Instagram stories on Sunday and asked his followers to help as much as they could. He shared his bank account details and asked people to pitch in.

“Please help him koyi bhi in say nazdeek rehta hai ya in k touch main hain [whoever lives nearby or is in touch with him] lots more of prayers for you Wahab bhai,” he wrote.

“As you can see, this is all we have left,” said Wahab. “The rest has all fallen and we don’t have much. We are appealing to the government to make our houses so we can move there and live with our children.”

He took his children and moved to Dera Murad Jamali where a friend offered them a room. Everything they own has been destroyed.
