The couple was travelling from Turkiye to Muscat. However, they were stopped for investigation after airport security discovered that they were carrying a large amount of gold and cash.

Both of them are now under investigation by Turkish authorities.

Hareem Shah has been making headlines for one reason or another. She is arguably one of Pakistan’s biggest social media stars with a penchant for controversy and media stunts.

Earlier this year she landed herself in a money laundering probe by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) after she posted a video of herself flaunting foreign currency, claiming she managed to take a hefty amount out of the country.

“No one stopped me because no one can. I easily took the large sum out of the country,” she said while mocking the authorities.

The FIA froze Shah’s bank accounts in Lahore and Karachi in January after she posted the video. Shah had later claimed that the video was a joke.

The social media star also briefly met MQM founder Altaf Hussain after he left a court proceeding in London. The TikToker called out to him, to which he responded and waved at her.

“May God bless you and may God give you a prosperous future,” said Hussain to Shah.

In 2021, a video surfaced where the social media star is slapping controversial cleric Mufti Abdul Qavi after he allegedly engaged in a “vulgar” conversation with her. His title of Mufti was taken away after the video.

In 2019, Shah’s videos from inside Pakistan’s Foreign Office caused a great deal of backlash, with security at the department coming under scrutiny after she was also seen sitting in what is usually the prime minister’s seat.
